Twin Chimneys Farm

Twin Chimneys Farm is a working tree farm and chestnut orchard that is owned by Kathryn and Bob Rowell near Woodruff, South Carolina.  While the pine plantations and natural hardwoods on the 260 acre farm are intensively managed for timber and wildlife, the main crop is produced by roughly 900 chestnut trees on 18 irrigated acres.  Our seedling mother trees represent 25 different families of both pure Chinese chestnuts and hybrids and 1 grafted European chestnut.  Nuts are harvested every day beginning in early September and continuing for 4 to 6 weeks.  Fresh cullinary chestnuts will be available for purchase as well as seed nuts for those who want to "grow your own".
